History

The history of this organization is well narrated and inspired by the personal experiences throughout the educational journeys of many of its members and the founder alike. For instance, in founder’s case which will also resonate with the stories of many of its members, being a first generation learner of a tenant’s family in a remote village  of Gonda district in Uttar Pradesh, who started his schooling from a government primary school, then transferred to a school under construction (then) where he, finished his schooling with decent grades. However, having finished his twelve-year schooling totally in his village, he left for the small city  in a search of new educational opportunities. 

After being deadly misguided to a quack school of certificate training in computer, followed by a subsequent stumble to an unsuited ITI workforce training institute, he somehow, after these many stumblings and amid continued financial hardships, landed in  LBS degree college, Avadh University located at his district head quarter (Gonda) for his BSc degree where he  majored in chemistry with first a class standing. He then with the guidance of his college friend got admitted to the University of Lucknow for his master level studies MSc (a degree in applied chemistry) which was not of his taste as he was interested in the study of pure chemistry.

Though, he had a full chance of getting enrolled in pure MSc chemistry degree, this decision came out of his unawareness, lack of guidance and fueled by the suggestions of another equally unaware friend. However, seeing his flaming interest in chemistry a few academically liberal professors at the university helped him attend  the courses of pure chemistry as well which allowed him passed the exams with first class standing. He, then took a short stint at  a company as trainee chemist which he soon relinquished. His unfulfilled desire for a right course of study took him to  another master degree of his choice for which he prepared hard to take IIT entrance  exams, thus entered the IIT Delhi for his engineering master degree.  

After, his assimilation in a good academic environment he could clear various other national exams in chemical sciences that too in national ranks. While receiving his training in chemistry (MTech, PhD) at IIT Delhi, He was lucky to receive the mentorship of professors like Prof. Jai Deo Singh, Prof. Satyawati Sharma and Prof. Pravin P. Ingole who have been devoting their life to help students at IIT Delhi especially from rural and marginalized backgrounds. While, working here for all these years, he constantly remain in touch with his village, especially the new generation students studying in rural areas. 

Considering such stories still being common to rural India, compounded further with his weary experiences through his personal journey from remote rural area to IIT Delhi, and the sheer motivation and support he received form his mentors. He co-founded a rural school, MIS for guiding the rural students for upward mobility in a quality and affordable educational setup. A constant interaction with large students body and the apparent gap in rural-urban education, he with his like minded friends having similar experiences, decided to establish the “Satyarth” for this huge educational and environmental causes. The members of this organization came forward and supported the cause overwhelmingly.
